a) the large, saclike organ of vertebrates into which food passes from the esophagus or gullet for storage while undergoing the early processes of digestion: see INTESTINE

2. any enlarged storage portion of the digestive cavity, as in invertebrates
3. the abdomen, or belly

5. desire or inclination of any kind
